I don't want to be member either, mainly because if I go out I then blow it all by a lot. I now eat until I am full and then wrap it up and put it in the fridge. If I feel hungry later I can pull it out and reheat and it is already logged. Part of being here for me is to relearn proper portion sizes and learn to listen when my body has enough.

You can still clean your plate.......................................just make sure the plate isn't 15" around. Shoot for a 9" plate instead.

does it still count if i stack my food on a 9" plate? The idea is that an empty plate visually helps with satiety.

I've always been taught to clean my plate and not waste food, so I always do, no matter how satisfied I am. This has lead to a bad habit of over-eating (or slightly binging) that's been impossible to break

The bad habit isn't from cleaning your plate - which is the correct thing to do - the bad habit is from putting too much on the plate.

I've always been taught to clean my plate and not waste food, so I always do, no matter how satisfied I am. This has lead to a bad habit of over-eating (or slightly binging) that's been impossible to break. I'm going to start leaving some food on my plate every meal. The last couple times I've done this, I found myself thinking... well i've already measured out my servings and logged it in MFP, now my calories/protein/carbs or whatever are going to be off. I know that sounds silly and maybe like an excuse to clear my plate. Does anyone have any tips or advice for me? I eat pretty healthy but I just loveee the taste of any food and feeling full.

If you already logged it, why would you leave food on the plate?

I don't ever see myself leaving the clean your plate club

Yep this..... If I have measured and weighed out my meal then I am going to clean my plate period.... I don't see the point, I have logged it so I am eating it.... Best of Luck

as long as you are in a calorie deficit and hitting your macro goals why wouldn't you clean your plate..?????

As others have said, simply don't put too much on your plate.
Measure out the amount you're going to eat to stay in your calorie range, then you don't have to worry about overeating.
I disagree with Jillian Michael's whole thing about basically ruining the food on your plate to force yourself not to eat it. That's wasteful and gross.
Weigh your food, count the calories, eat it all, the end.
