Workouts for eating disorder recovery?

does anyone have good ideas for workouts someone can do during recovery from an eating disorder? Especially to rebuild lost muscle and strengthen the body. Is there such thing as low impact moves for joints (especially the knees) that can still build muscle?

  • Hi, I personally recovered from my eating disorder and am now losing weight the way our bodies were created to. :) After about a month of recovery I added in light running and the elliptical machine because I personally found the elliptical easy to use, and yes it is easy on the knees! Good luck and congrats on your recovery!

Pilates Reformer, it will help you build muscle and is easier on the joints than traditional weight lifting ... Ashtanga (power) yoga is good too ... You need weight-bearing exercises to build muscle and change your body composition ...

How is body weight moves? I have light enough weights to work with and a stretchy band and large yoga ball. I'm aiming to build muscle and then lean out.
