Hello I am a 34 yr old mum to 4 and step mum to 1, live in rural Canterbury, New Zealand as a dairy farmer. I have been on here since 2011 and my first shot worked great. Loved the motivation, the friendships made and most of all the fact i was getting it done! I was going strong with a more than 10 kg loss and then my grandfather passed away. It effected me in ways i didn't imagine (having loss close family before) I have basically struggle since then. In that time I managed to eat my way back to my original weight and some, to the heaviest I have ever been at 125 kg. I have now lost 12 kg again with the start of the new dairy farming season and hoping to get myself together before the calving finishes to keep the ball rolling I am looking to make some new friends to help keep their goals as well as mine.

  • I've just joined this great site and feel totally motivated - I have 20kg to lose according to my GP!! My advice to you is look forward, not back; be kind to yourself and be positive. You've done it before and you will get back on track again and feel good about yourself. I too have suffered loss and you need to allow yourself the time needed to heal and move on, life itself makes you move on, you will never get over loss and the pain in your heart will ease and become less raw - in my mind I see a little box in my heart that holds the pain; you will move on as life moves on and you will do it for yourself and your family. You have an angel motivating you now too, I talk to my angel and regularly ask for motivation too! Keep positive and visualise the me you want to be.

Hi Kerry, I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing someone we love can take us in different ways can't it. You don't see it coming. I never expected the reaction I had to my dad's death, it totally knocked me off my perch.

I'm down in central! Working on a summerfruit orchard. Just had a carpel tunnel release so I'm sitting on my chair doing nothing.

As to my weight loss history: I losing the same weight all the time... back and forth, and back and forth. Every year my top number getting higher. And in the past have never made it past a 5kg loss without quitting before. So I am scared and apprehensive as I approach the 5kg mark... will I make it this time or will the wheels fall off? My current goal is losing 12kg by xmas and I already have about 4kg in the bag (weigh-in's tomorrow). Trying to keep my eye on the main goal, hoping to sneak past 5kg without it setting off my usual MUST EAT ALL FOOD trigger.

I love the community here, everyone's so supportive and positive. :D Sending you a friend request! :)
