Fitness, weight, shape, measurements......

So after 4 months I finally lost a stone!!! Hurrah! .....but I think I look the same, people told me to measure and really I've only lost an inch off each area maximum!! It's so puzzling! I've lost 14lb but I measure the same? My friends say I look different. But how can I if my measurements are the same?

If you lost an inch in each area then you are not the same. What were you looking for with your 14 pounds? Were you also doing a lot of cardio and lifting? Sometimes that will give you more, but an inch in each area means at least 3" lost if you are counting bust, waist, and hips. That adds up to a nice loss. :)

My first weight comes off of things like knees, lol. Or lower thighs where I don't measure (but I can see the loss). An inch loss is great, though! It sounds like you are doing well.
  • Ah so maybe I'm expecting too much? I had imagined that 14lb would look a lot different, I don't really know what I'm expecting I suppose lol!
  • i found an image on google of 5lbs of fat vs 5lb of muscle using a pen to gauge the size difference. it really shocked me!

im still learning myself but is it possible you've lost some muscle rather than fat? when i started on a calorie restricted diet i lost 10lbs but felt exactly the same and lost less than an inch in most areas. a PT told me that i was over doing it with the cardio and not eating enough per day to build or even keep muscle and while i was shedding a little fat chances were the weight lost was a combo of muscle and water. food for thought.

big congrats on loosing the inches tho! i wish i could say the same :) an inch is an inch and id say your kicking goals ;) i wouldnt pay too much attention the the scales.

an inch all over sounds about right for a stone of weight, at your kind of size (with little to lose).

it'll be most of a dress size.
go to a shop where you regularly shop and try on the next size down from what you wore before.
