Looking for support

I have been struggling with dieting and weight loss for years. I know I need to lose weight, I even get really mad at myself for screwing up, but I can't seem to stop screwing up. I can keep track of my daily intake, but then just get the urge to eat one thing (or a lot of things) that I shouldn't have. I seem to lack all willpower, I can't seem to tell myself that i don't need it. The same goes for excercise, I know I should do it, I plan to do it, but then don't, I can't motivate myself to do what I know needs to be done. I am hungry all the time, I have even tried Adipex from my doctor (who states its the strongest hunger suppressant you can get), but that only seems to help intermittently. I am looking for someone or a few people to help keep me motivated, and help me get motivated when I need it. I have been looking for other sites online, where I can talk to someone whenever I need to, but can't find anything. I feel like this is my last try before i look into surgery. I really don't want to go that route though. If anyone has any ideas, or wants to be friends to help out, I would appreciate it.

Nerd Fitness (dot com). You'll get an ebook (pdf): "15 Mistakes Newbies Make When Trying to Get Healthy". NF has changed my life. And it's free.0

Get a copy of "Eat To Live" or "Eat For Health" by Dr. Fuhrman and read it all the way through. It change my whole mindset about food. I highly recommend it.0

I was feeling the same way a while back, but one day I was talking to a friend of mine and she said if you keep doing the same thing you get the same results, if you do some thing different you get different results. Something about that stucki in my head and the next day I decided to change my lifestyle. I been committed since August 17, 2013. I met a lot of supportive friends on this site and my Fibit site. I wear the fibit flex dailly and it keeps me motivatied to walk 10,000 steps a day. Feel free to add me as a friend.0

I'm still working on the exercise part... I am like you about that. It's like going to church: I hate getting ready but once I'm there it's fine.
I belong to a gym that I rarely attend-- it's less that 10 minutes away but I still haven't got myself into a routine of going there. I have a pool pass that I rarely use-- it means a 25 minute drive and wet hair. I usually talk myself out of it. I may have figured out a solution for myself. It's as simple as the old Nike ad "Just Do It" --yes, it's that simple.
I think too long about it and end up talking myself out of it. "It's too far to drive today." "My gym shorts are dirty." "It will probably be crowded right now." You know, that chatter in my head that lets me off the hook. Today I simply slipped on a pair of shoes and went for a 30-minute ride. Didn't analyze it or think about changing clothes or having to wash my hair afterwards; I just did it. I always enjoy it once I'm out there and I feel good when I come back. So I need to "just do it" as soon as the thought hits my brain that I need to move.0 -
hey there,
You sound just like me....
You're being really harsh on yourself. Just make sure you have a big enough why to lose weight and the how will automatically come through. Most importantly i discovered after 9 years of failed dieting, you have to do it for yourself, want it for yourself otherwise the weight doesn't come off.
Give MFP a good month or 6 months if you can before you opt for surgery. For me this site has been heaven sent because im accountable for my whole day now - diet and exercise wise. Also you will get great support from the members here.
All the best!0
