Is there a "perfect" walking distance?

Options
My primary exercise is walking. I'm wondering is there such a thing as a "perfect" (preferred) walking distance (at moderate pace)
which results in beneficial weight loss assistance? Right now, I'm staying at 4 miles per day ---- at that distance am I just taking a
walk in the park OR working out a bit?

    Hi,
I'm 63 myself and don't think there is a perfect walking distance, even for one person, let alone everyone in general. It seems to me that some days you just feel like doing more, or less. We aren't the same everyday. Some days we feel more energized, but some day you may have a cold coming on or didn't get enough sleep.
Personally, I think variety is more important than perfection. Walking different routes, with different difficulty levels. Trading walking for another activity regularly, adding new activities, such as Yoga, bicycling or swimming.
I try to keep it interesting rather than looking for perfection.

    1.618 miles.

Follow that, and you'll be Golden.
