Want to lose weight yet have no motivation :;

A little about myself 19 5'2 and 145lb which is overweight on the BMI.
Have constantly tried to lose weight over the past two years and nothing ever works out for me because I give up so easily.
One month I joined the gym don't go as hard as I would like to at the gym but still try to burn at least 300-400 calories each gym session.
My diet is an absolute mess I've been watching my weight for quite some time now and it's absolutely ridiculous my belly actually looks like popping out and my butt and thighs have always been my awful part of the body so big but now belly is doing the same :( (attend gym at least 3times a week)
Just before my brothers wedding which was a few months ago I really was strict on what I ate but it's all gone out of the window now I just can't get myself into the correct mindset and it's so unfair as I want to lose weight so badly I honestly feel that if I was to lose weight I'd live a happier life and I know that you'll say 'accept yourself' but honestly it's easier said then done. Now my birthday is approaching and I really really want to slim down for that do my question is do any of you have any diet plans that I can stick to and any exercise regimes that can be done in the gym? Thank you.

    I don't mean to sound rude, but if you really want to lose the weight, you can. And you have to do it for yourself. I was in the same boat as you up until a few months ago. No motivation, quitting very easily. My motivation was putting a pic of me on my laptop background. And I had to put down my video games in the name of fitness. If you want to, you can do it. I've lost 18lbs using this site. With the encouragement/cheers from my MFP friends, and my own will power, I'm at a weight that I haven't seen in a decade. No joke. If you want it bad enough...you can do it. But it's gotta be you!

    As far as diets go, there's no secret formula, it's all about calories in, calories out. 1lb is 3500 calories, if you can cut that out (or work it out) maybe 1 or 2lbs a week, then you'll start noticing a difference. Best of luck!

    My advice is to think of it as getting fit, not weight loss. Don't put a time limit on it. Eat at a calorie deficit for weight loss, DO NOT deprive yourself of the foods you love, meet you macro/micro and fiber goals for overall health and exercise for fitness. Use that gym membership and start lifting, you won't regret it! Here's a great post about getting started:
