Thank you all for your compassion and good advice.

Procedure went well. I'm at home recovering/resting. I was able to eat a good breakfast and I'm enjoying some coffee. Working from home today.

If I feel better later today I may go for a walk or something, but the doctor said no strenuous activity (running, hiking) So I will probably keep it light today.

They didn't find anything scary...a couple abnormalities but nothing earth-shaking, which is a huge relief. They were going in looking for signs of cancer so words can't express how relieved I am.

    I'm so happy for you!

Happy that you survived a day of liquid diet, lol.
But really happy that your tests didn't show the worst things. That must feel good.
Take it easy today, relax and treat yourself well, and bask in your good health. Fitness can wait until tomorrow.

And if you ever want to talk about the specifics, or about your worries, I'm a great listener!

    Thanks so much, Naomi.

It was rough. It was GI procedure so yesterday was pretty sucky. My stomach is torn up right now and on top of that I'm still in a lot of pain from boot camp on Saturday. Not handling food well either :(

You will get a meal plan from the hospital or wherever you had the operation. Just follow that.

Hey i just thought of something - did you have that stuff you drink to clear yourself out? I bet anything is better than that :)

I think when you are recovering from a procedure, well at least with me, I didn't worry about calories or any kind of weight loss, I just tried to get the food down that they suggested, then when i got hungrier, they changed up from liquids to other foods, and sometimes I wanted more than what they allowed, but due to the anesthesia, they said no. so you will be ok, just follow what they tell you.

Nonny, yes...I had to drink this "solution" they told me to drink. 1 Liter in the morning, 1 in the afternoon/evening. It was horrible and my tummy is STILL suffering today. I'm feeling a little better now than I was earlier today but...still not great.

There is nothing worse than that whole preparation business. The good news is, there really is nothing in the entire world worse than that, so from here on out it will all be so much better!

Oh goodie you survived that :) well now,,, you know whats funny - after surgery, sometimes the simplest things taste so good, like i was starving, so the nurse gave me some honey grahams, wow those tasted like heaven! imagine that. you will be ok.. the worst part is over. haha you know the funny part? i bought a box of this coconut water that is supposed to be healthy? well it tasted like that stuff you drank pre-op. BLECH! i had to throw it out.. never again do i want to EVER taste anything so nasty as that stuff ;)

I was once on ordered not to eat before surgery and the waiting room had Food network on! What twisted SOB thought it was cool to play Food Network for a room of sick/ starving people?

HAHAHA It's so funny you should say that because the day I was doing the prep (sunday) whenI could only have clear liquids, I was watching Chopped all day long...and looking at Pinterest (mostly recipes).

They gave me some saltines afterward. They were ok. The toast hit the spot when I got home. Things are finally starting to feel better.

The prep really was awful. The procedure was nothing. They had only given me half of the meds and I was completely out. Next thing I know, she's tapping me on the shoulder and I'm in recovery. Glad it's over.
