Weight Gain- Help!

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I have found myself frustrated because a week ago I weighed in 3 lbs. lighter than I did today. Now, I know that this weekend and a few days last week were full of carbohydrates and sodium, so this cannot be real weight gain, right? However, is it not remotely easy to gain 1 lb. in the course of 2 days?
How can I get back on track? It is so easy for me to stay discouraged. How do you know when the weight gain, "real?"

Can you redo that question? You appear to be saying you lost 3lb in a week and are somehow upset about it.
If you've said it wrong, then the way to gain 1lb in the course of 2 days is to consume 7000 calories above your daily calorie requirement.
Did you do this?
If you did this you've gained 1lb of fat. If you did not do this then you did not gain 1lb of fat.0 -

Trust the physics. Just trust the physics. If they were different for you, believe me, a whole science would not be resting upon them and you'd be on a bench being dissected.
It took me a long time to figure this out, which is why I bang on about it. If we disobeyed the laws of physics, the laws of physics would have to change. And they haven't changed. Any energy you consume will either be used or stored. If you run at a deficit energy you have stored MUST be used or else you would grind to a halt.0 -
Water weight. sounds backwards but .. drink more water.0

Dont get discouraged. Weight bounces up and down throughout the week depending on the types of food you have eaten and how much you have drank. Heck, on pms week, I could eat veggies only and still gain weight because I retain water like crazy. Just remember, you are in this for the long haul.0

Sounds like you feel guilty for how you ate over the weekend..... The most important thing with diet is consistency, during cuts I do NOT take a cheat day... First cut was 272 days before I had a cheat day..... Good luck to you but if you are going want to seriously cut weight you have to be serious 7 days a week... Sorry if I am not the warm and fuzzy ra ra it's ok type..0

I agree with the last post. Being consistent is the key here. If you constantly eat what is right and what is healthy then you are going to lose weight, my body responds when I am healthy but when I put "junk" in I get just that "junk" out. Try to stay away from processed foods as much as possible and pay attention to how much sodium is in your foods. Eat fresh or frozen veggies, If you eat canned veggies be sure to rinse them off. Try cutting out un-healthy carbs and get your carbs from fruits and vegetables instead. Don't be discouraged by weight fluctuations. Take measurements as well and only weigh once a week.0

I gained 4 lbs in a week. Water retention and constipation (probably from being dehydrated).
If you know for certain that you didnt eat 3 x 3500 calories to gain 3 lbs, then you need to focus on other reasons. And I'm pretty sure those reasons can be cured with drinking a lot of water.0
