I've been exercising and dieting for 8 weeks and lost 20 pounds. I did this Biggest Loser DVD for the first month then I started biking for 7 miles for the next few weeks. The last few weeks I have been jogging for 8 min and walking for 3. I do this 6 times. I am just looking for other suggestions as I look to continue to confuse my body because I hear that's the best way to lose weight. I won't have access to a gym until college starts in a few weeks. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate them!!! Thank you in advance!

Great job!!! Congrats on your accomplishments. How many days and how long each day do you currently workout? You may need to add another day or combine everything you have done into a week. Workout with the tape a day or two, run/walk the next day or two(increase your run from 8 mins to 10 mins) and the bike another day. Jump rope after your run/walk or bike ride. Jumping rope benefits the entire body. Playing tennis is a freat exercise (look for free tennis lessons in your area). I recently took lessons for 6 weeks, I couldn't believe the workout and soreness from practice. Good luck on your search!!!

It sounds like you are on the right track. I did almost exclusively cardio, and a lot of it, until I got down to a normal body fat percentage. I still try to do 7500 - 10000 calories a week of exercise but have added about 15- 20 minutes per day of lifting medium weight 3 to 4 times a week. On my "off day" each week I mow my lawn, which takes 2 hours with a push mower and walk a little (2-4 miles) on a mountain (I live on it).
My recommendation is to add hills or steps to your walk or run and switch between the 2. You can burn almost 3 times more calories on a 15% incline than you can on flat ground. It is very time efficient. Since you are young, you could add in 3 minutes of hard sprints and do the walk for 8 minutes. It never hurts to use some fast twitch muscle for a little while until you are old like me. You can do the same sprints on the bike if that fits what you like to do and risks injury less than running , but i do not recommend steps on a bike. :P0 -
