Speak to other parents who...
Options
I'd like to speak with, and maybe befriend, other parents who have had one of their children have to undergo BIRTH-TO-THREE SPEECH THEREPY. My son is almost 2, and doing well in every aspect of his development, except speech. He is not stringing any words together yet, so they are starting BIRTH-TO-THREE SPEECH THEREPY.
I'd like to chat to other parents who have gone through this. Thanks!

My son started speech therapy at the age of three. . .but there was no official "Birth to Three" title to it, he just went to speech therapy every week.0

My kids both started it at 2, it's called Early Intervention here. They didn't really start to talk until they were closer to 2.5. They had 1h a week. They're 5.5 now and mostly caught up, give or take some pretty horrible grammar mistakes.0

not familiar with the term but my first and fourth kids did speech till they were 5 ... the fourth is continuing on in the school system0

My son started speech at 2 and was covered through the age of 3. He now attends a pre-school two mornings a week for three hours where he receives speech services. He was not stringing words together before the age of two either...now he talks all the time (he is 3 1/2), but needs work on other areas of his speech!0

Sounds like my son to a T! He started speech therapy at 2. was hardly talking.
he turns five in two weeks and is doing fantastic. he had speech therapy (still does once a week), and we see him improving all of the time.
it's scary in the beginning. we even went so far as to take him to a developmental pediatrician, but some kids just need the extra time. he is still "delayed" but catching up every day.0 -
My guys were two when they started speech therapy. The speech came almost instantly to one (they're twins but they didn't do 'twin speak') and the second one followed shortly after and then they wouldn't stop. Nobody would ever know they were delayed at all.0

My son did speech therapy starting just before his second birthday until he was 3. It did wonders. He went from basically pointing and grunting to speaking in full, clear sentences. My other son is in first grade and I am pushing to get him in speech therapy. He can speak pretty well, but has to work to pronounce some sounds and if he is overly excited it is sometimes impossible to understand him.0

it all depends what the issue is.. with my son its motor speech, wish it was just articulation... hes five, still struggles a lot... thankfully hes super patient with it and does not get too upset or frustrated..0
