I bruised my ankle on the weekend when my glass scales fell down and landed on my ankle, it is bruised and little swollen, should I still exercise? I have rested it for 2 days and it still hurts a little when I walk.

I would take it easy and let yourself heal. If you have an Ace bandage or air cast, that may help and provide some support while you heal. I have injured both ankles in the past, and they STILL act up if I do high-intensity exercise (this is YEARS after the injuries). I say, listen to your body. You definitely don't want to make anything worse.
Oh! For pain and swelling, take ibuprofen or another anti-inflamatory medication.0 -

Absolutely not! If you feel you can't do without any exercise, maybe work your arms, upper body etc. But let your ankle heal properly.0

I would consider resting it a few more days but if you want to go to the gym....... Does your gym have machines you can use like UBE (arm bike), maybe row machine and just use upper body, anything you can do to take the weight off your foot.... Best of Luck0

I would actually do my normal workout. Increased circulation to the area will help the bruise and associated swelling heal more quickly. After you're done, put a bag of frozen peas on it to help even more with the swelling.
I had a grade II, almost grade III ankle sprain a few years ago, my orthopedist and physical therapist had me up and exercising the very next day so that the injury would heal faster. A bruise doesn't even involve tendons and ligaments, so go for it!0 -
Personally i'd keep off the ankle... safety first! But i'm no expert on these matters0

Thank you for your advice, I might do some light exercises and see how my ankle is, any feeling of pain and I will definitely stop as I don't want to increase my recover time!0
