Slump

I had been doing so good on both the diet and exercising last month. However, the past three weeks, I have seemed to hit a slump. I am unable to get myself to the gym, either before or after work. I'm wanting and eating almost everything in site. I have no motivation! Any suggestions on how to best get over the slump or moving forward?

Well I'm not sure about you, but I do most of my cardio and exercising at home, because I ALSO can't get myself to the gym. I bought some weights and other equipment so I can't give myself the excuse of 'I'm too lazy to go'.
I'm also strict into regiments, everyday before I watch television I HAVE to do my exercises. That's all there is to it.
I also throw out about half my kitchen once a week. Anything that I really shouldn't be eating. Not great for my wallet, but I had to make the concession somewhere.0 -
Get up off of your computer/phone now and give me 10 of your best push ups.
Felt pretty good, didn't it? Now get to working out!
Nike said it best. Just do it!0 -
Make a list of all the foods you like that are lower in calories
dont watch tv unless you r exercising while doing so
if something is within walking distance walk, do not let yourself drive, or bike ride
look at the success stories on mfp
log everything uou eat, even the bad stuff
hope this helps
now just do it0 -
You just gotta do it!
For the eating, sit down with your recipe book or with the internet and make up a meal plan for a week (or two or three) and make up a grocery list at the same time so you can go buy everything you need. Plan all meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The more you have planned ahead of time, the less thinking you have to do on the fly and the less likely you'll be tempted by goodies.
For the exercise, similary, make up a plan. Pick whichever days are best for you to exercise, write it on your planner, set a reminder on your phone, whatever it takes. No excuses!!
Also, I'd do something thinking about what changed. How come you did so well before and then stopped? Once you identify why, figure out how you can handle that better in the future. For instance, maybe you're not eating enough or you're depriving yourself of foods you enjoy or you're working out too hard (all common) - so up your calorie allowance a bit, budget in the occassional treat and make sure you're getting rest days. The less intense your plan is, the more likely you'll stick with it.0 -
