Hello, I just joined this forum, first ever forum just stumbled upon it and I hope it helps me. See, it's like this; I am 34 yr old female I've had 5 children always been between 160-180 my whole life since about 16. I had a baby girl aug 2012 then tubes tied oct 2012 almost 1 year ago. It has always been hard for me to gain weight I'm always hungry I always eat and I love food. By around January 2013 I started to notice my pants being lose and by feb2013 I was at about 150 from 180 which is what I was after the baby in sept/oct. and since then 6 months ago, my weight has been steady declining. I am now 109.1 I am big boned, wide hips and thighs, etc but now all my bones show you can see every rib my pelvic bone back bones everything. I've been to the doc, 4 different drs in last 5 months and 5 different ER visits just to see why I'm losing so much weight so fast. Every place, every dr says everything looks good, ctscans ultrasound blood urine etc. it's very frustrating I have lost about 70 pounds in about 6 months I eat more than usual to try to gain been trying to be lazy not active drinking boost and ensure protein and vitamins. I'm so hopeless, everyone thinks I'm on drugs or dying which looks about right. Strangers stare and comment, I've lost all self esteem which has always been low even tho everyone says I'm beautiful i always think they are teasing me, especially now I look in the mirror with disgust all I see is bone structure, veins and disappointment. I sit down and my butt hurts cuz it's bone and skin no meat or fat anywhere. I'm so frustrated hopeless depressed & ugly I just want to be normal when I'm at 170 I look my best because my stomach has always been flat and curves where they're supposed to be and used to get compliments daily from strangers men tryin to get my number etc but now I don't leave the house because I don't want to be seen by anyone my husband thinks I'm the most beautiful woman he's ever seen , at least that's what he tells me but deep down I know he says that bcuz he lives me and doesn't wanna see me hurting. I'm at a loss I look decomposed almost like if I lose another 5 pounds then that will end my life cuz there's nothing left to lose. I'm tired of the feeling of sadness and frustration. With no medical insurance and no job due to small children and the sickness that I live with daily, the pain in my back and tummy, the tiredness, constipation, nausea, dizziness, nastiness of vomit being swallowed back instead of letting my upset tummy vomit i try to get air, breathe, water , anything to not throw up when nausea hits I have to throw up in my mouth and swallow it so I don't lose any weight even an ounce. I'm just fed up I hopevthisvhelps

You mention the vomiting at the end of your post. Have you been vomiting throughout your weight loss or is this a more recent thing since the weight has come off? If you have been unable to keep food down all along, I would suggest seeing a nutrition specialist. Perhaps you have developed an allergy or intolerance to one or several foods that is preventing you from keeping your food down.
Unexplained weight loss needs to be investigated further. I don't know what all tests your doctors ran, but I think you need to return to one and ask (demand) them to further investigate what is happening to you. (Perhaps a visit to the doctor who tied your tubes, as it sounds like all of this may have started around that time). This is obviously not normal and I fear for your health if someone does not run more extensive tests. Many hospitals and clinics will help you to set up a payment plan you can afford, please don't let your lack of insurance stop you. Your hubby sounds loving and supportive and your young family needs you to take care of yourself right now so you will be around for them in the years to come.0 -
please dont do the vomit swallow thing anymore...that is beyond gross and unnecessary. go back to one those drs and ask for the next round of action. ask if u should be admitted to be fed by IV or have an iron infusion.
agree with the above poster dont let cost get in the way. in the meantime chamomile tea ad cashews are both beleiv2d to increase appetite. maizena is a mild but delicious sold in packets in ethnic food aisle and full of cals and used by nursing moms to get milk when they think they have none.0 -
Yep! I knew a girl losing weight like that because she suffered celiacs disease. You need to see an internist who can give you a celiac's exam. They will either do an EGD or a stool sample.0

Either that or your gallbladder might need to be removed. It happens alot to women who have several kids. I had a cousin who had those symptoms too without the actual side pain. GO SEEK A DIFFERENT OPINION!0

Vomiting just started and only happened a few times and all in sept only, the dr that tied my tubes is retired now but he messed up my procedure I was hospitalized and got an infection and couldn't walk for almost a month but I know my body and this isn't a regular thing, the only reason I try to hold back vomit or swallow it back( if its not much) is cuz I cannot afford to lose weight.0

I should add that the doc never saw gallstones or an unusual gallbladder ultrasound. They bugged the doc to death to do something about the issue because they never saw any reason to be quick about it because tests showed nothing. Its so hard finding a doc who actually cares anymore.0

I would keep bugging them about it or find someone else who can help you.0

also i think u may have caught something at the hospital where u gave birth. also you are not ur body. just as u are not allowed or justified in hating urself when ur fat urjequally not allowed to do that when ur too thin. love urself first enough to see ur everythin to ur kids and press on till u get the right solution. u will overcome this. just choose where u spend ur energy wisely and prioritize ur health above everything right now. even over the ownership of things u think u "need".0

I don't know where you live or what doctors you've seen, but if you've shared with them what you've shared with us something is terribly wrong if they aren't following up. Your symptoms are all over the place and this isn't the place to get medical advice for what's ailing you. PLEASE get back to a doctor. I don't want to alarm you or sound overly dramatic but you know yourself that you're ill and need medical treatment. It could be something easily resolved after diagnosing - but you've got to get appropriate help from a medical professional0

THIS IS NOT NORMAL! Go back to the doctor or get a referral to a specialist. You might not be able to afford it now, but this sounds life threatening! Being anorexic from whatever cause can cause damage to other organs (heart, kidneys). Maybe you need a different doctor.0
