If you are a heavier person, then your body will need more fuel then say a person that is 120 pounds. Just remember that you should go back and recalculate after ever 5-10 pounds lost. If you are using the MFP calculations, it does it for you.

    Best of luck!

Double check your entries. You can do it by going to my home > goals > change goals.

But honestly that doesn't sound like too much although we don't have all your stats. Don't forget, MFP also expects you to log exercise and eat a portion of those calories back.

Give it a shot. Eat at 1600 for about a month or at least a couple weeks and see what happens. Trust me, if you can lose consistently at 1600 instead of having to go lower you will be much happier.

What is your activity level set at? I want to lose 100lbs more and MFP has me at 1250 cals and I'm set at sedentary. So if you're lightly/active, that might be right on.

You could eat more too. MFP tends to give anyone who says they want to lose 2 lbs/ week around 1200 calories. Unless you do nothing but sit on the couch all day and watch tv you are not sedentary.

1600 is not abnormal depends on your weight, age and height. Also if you use MFP as designed you will also be expected to eat back some of your calories. At my SW of 220 at 5'6 and 39 yr/old I was doing 1800 and eating back some calories. Had no problem losing weight. Before MFP I was eating around 2400 or more a day. Have you tried to record a normal day so you have an idea how much you were eating? You would be surprised - 1600 is not really that much.
