Hi there, my name is Kerstin, I am 45 and live in Northumberland - my cousin recommended joining this group to get support with my weight loss battle.
Over the last few months I have already lost nigh on a stone by being careful (but not obsessive about my food and alcohol) but have taken up jogging using the rundouble couch to 5k app which i would highly recommend to anyone....I won't tell you it is easy but with a little determination it is do-able (even for a very very unfit fatty like me!)
Having already completed the 9 weeks couch to 5k section I am already feeling a lot better about myself - anybody just starting out with this...good luck...you can do it!
My goal was to complete the Couch to 5k before my holiday to France; which I did and was very pleased.
But now it is serious diet time!
So apart from watching my diet in an organised way with a calorie count:
I'm now doing a 5k improver to get my pace up - that's running 5k three times a week with run/walk sections, if this doesn't help shift the pounds I don't know what will!
On my non run days I walk the dog twice a day, on a run day I walk the dog once as well
Every day (Mon - Fri) I walk for 30 mins at lunchtime
Sat/Sun me and my fella usually go out walking - approx 5 miles
Would welcome any advice or tips from other dieters - particuarly on how to avoid excessive alcohol calories; which is one of my biggest downfalls...that and chocolate lol

Hello to you!
Congratulations on your success so far x
Insofar as tips, I try to avoid alcohol haha because im such a foodie when Ive had a drink and can usually undo a weeks worth of work with a couple of hours in the pub. Try and stick with diet coke and vodka. Feel free to have a peak at my diary, particularly last friday when I went to the pub lol x
Best of luck with the rest of your journey x0 -
