're-setting' after significant weight loss

After each 10 lbs of loss, I was asked by MFP if I wanted to re-calculate to see if my caloric goal should change, and I opted for 'no' because what I was doing was working for me. Is this necessary for continued success? My goal is 1 lb/week, which I have done successfully for 23 weeks, but if it stops working is that an indication that I should re-calculate?

As your weight drops the predicted calorie requirements will change (reduce) so updating it will maintain the calorie deficit you set out with.

As long as you get your daily kcal 2000, I wouldn't worry.
You are nearly there, so well done.
Your next plan would be how to maintaine the weight, and what changes you'll need to make.
For many, this is the most difficult part, as it takes as much dedication, as weight loss.

As you get smaller it makes sense that your body requires less calories. Depending on how many you were eating when you started you may not have to adjust for a while but yes under normal circumstances you will have to eat less to keep losing OR exercise more in order to maintain enough of a deficit .

Ideally this is why you would want to start out eating as much as possible and slowly reduce because going right to the bottom leaves you no where to go when you get stuck.

MFP can only give you a statistical estimate of how many calories someone your weight, height, age, and gender needs to lose a pound a week. Your actual data trumps that estimate, so I wouldn't change a thing.

Well, I went ahead and upped my exercise goals on the profile, which realistically I was achieving most weeks anyway, and my calorie allotment decreased by 150, so we'll see how it goes.
