FDA and food labels?

Options
So, I got curious and found this:
A food with a label declaration of calories, sugars, total fat,
saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, or sodium shall be deemed to be
misbranded under section 403(a) of the act if the nutrient content of
the composite is greater than 20 percent in excess of the value for that
nutrient declared on the label. Provided, That no regulatory action will
be based on a determination of a nutrient value that falls above this
level by a factor less than the variability generally recognized for the
analytical method used in that food at the level involved.
(Title 21, section 101, page 38)

So, you mean that those 100 calorie snack can have up to 120 calories?
Or the LeanCuisine 4 cheese pizza can have up to 480 calories?

I'm starting to think those 100 calorie snacks can have as many calories as they want as long as they pay their yearly bribe. After seeing this (http://www.iateapie.net/reviews/archives/2008/03/i_cant_believe.php) at the grocery store the last shred of my respect for the FDA was gone. Fat free what?

    yup. i knew that,

its like that everywhere, in the uk too, i've seen a television program about it.
one more reason to stay away from pre package food,
anyways, i dont tend to trust anything that comes from governement or big corporations.
espacialy big corporations, and i definitly wouldnt be surprise that snow is saying is true.

there is a lot more about the food corpations and the fda that we dont know about.

    sigh... its a sick world...

Yes, I saw a video clip on Today about how the 100 calorie packs can have more than 100 calories. I thought they were labeled as such though.
