Just turned 50, and want to lose!

I just turned 50, and want to lose 20 pounds. I've been trying to lose these same 20 pounds for a few years now. I've tried many different thoughts and plan from my naturopath, only to have nothing work. It's like my body is stuck at this weight and doesn't want to leave it! Anyway, if I toss all "plans" to the wind, and just go back to the basics - counting calories - will that be enough to help me lose? Obviously I would be exercising as well, and tracking everything, but I'm getting so frustrated with nothing working. Maybe something as uncomplicated as this will be the best way to go.

Yep.
I'm 50, I've lost 2½ stone since November, just counting calories. I don't work out, but i am trying to be more active walking more, doing strenuous activity etc. It's working.I'm feeling fantastic for it. If I can do it ANYONE can! But you must stick at it, be cruelly honest with yourself and your logging, and don't give up! Happy to be a friend if you think I'll be supportive0 -
Set a realistic budget and stick to it. Weigh and measure all your food, log everything that passes your lips, coffee creamers, sugar, tastes while cooking, the cookie you took from a co worker, the candy you picked up off the receptionists desk, it all counts.
Weigh loss comes down to calories in/calories out. You don't need a special diet to lose weight, just commitment.0 -
I simply watch what I eat 80/20 plan, work very hard and stay consistent. This will work! I have a routine and try and stick with it.
