Does this forum actually help anyone move forward?

Before I start, let me say that while the "Motivation and Support" forum is not for me, I do sincerely believe people need the opportunity to seek support from others, and that its cool and normal.
But everytime I get on here I just get frustrated, seems like people are looking more to talk then resolve things. Does anyone who comes on here for support actually get around to moving on and achieveing their goals?

Yes. I started out eating 1200 cals a day and read many posts on upping my cals as 1200 was too low. I decided to try it out and everyone was right. I did up my cals and still lost the same amount of weight every week.
I agree there's a lot of rubbish information on here, people thinking they know best, in the end you have to figure out what's best for you and it's all down to trial and error as we are all different and things affect us all differently.0 -
I mostly come on to distract me from eating something disastrous. I enjoy the gym and don't have a problem working out. It's my eating that has been totally off the rocker. So, yes, this forum does help me. It motivates me to leave the cookies and pizza alone!

I think this whole forum coddles too much and people are too sensitive when they don't hear the answer they want.0

I am moving forward spurred on by the Starvation Mode brigade that try to convince me to eat more and fail, I peeked into a couple of their open diaries and saw binges of chocolate pudding, muffins and ice cream most evenings to eat the calories.
Losing over 3lb a week and going strong, all done with MFP, Exercise and Consultants approval, I wonder what these people could achieve without the starvation mode myth as an excuse to binge in the evenings.0
