In honour of National Poetry Day (UK)

Hopefully a motivational poem in honour of National Poetry Day (UK).

I wrote this a few years ago when I realised I had put on over 60lbs and wanted to fee like I was doing something positive.

I've never been this big before.
I now have folds and creases where,
Once were flat and taut and toned.

I tell myself, "I'm just big boned!".
I'm sorry, no, that just won't do.
I have to look at things anew.

Talcum powder now a must,
Around my bum and under bust
My thighs have rubbed holes in my jeans
I can no longer hide from me.

I need a plan to help me slim
So I can be myself again.
I'll not regret what I've been through
And with hard work I'll feel brand new!
