I make it as easy on myself as possible, period.
I keep a mini-bike at home, beside my desk. My water, table fan, music, and towel are within arm's reach. Since Sept. 1, 2012, I've put 3,437.5 miles on that puppy, not counting other forms of exercise I've done. (Most of my workouts by far have been on the mini-bike.)
Night workouts are best for me. When 10 PM rolls around I feel antsy if I'm not getting ready. My workouts usually last for an hour.
Do I fret if I skip a day? Nah. Usually when I take a rest day it's because my body needs it. On rare occasion I take a rest day just because.
Do I fret about exactitude? Nah -- though the Fit-FX program that came with the bike is pretty good for calculating my calorie burn.
Sometimes I grumble and just want to skip it. I push through that. Or I'll tell myself I'll settle for a half hour instead of an hour or I'll do an easier ride. What usually happens is that by the time I reach the half-hour mark I know I can push through it and do the full hour. More times than not, I push harder. If I need to, I'll use a music assist, because I know what gets me going.
I also eat grapes as my post-workout food, so I'll push through so that I can enjoy them.

    Force yourself
Forcing yourself isn't always the best approach. Better to find physical exercise one enjoys so they can continue it for life and not just to lose weight.
