Hi. Is there any exercises that can burn off body fat without gaining muscles? I only wish to loss weight and keep slim instead of gaining muscles.

Is it ok to intake food after exercising as I always feel emptiness in my stomach and hear my stomach growling after that?

Any good advices?

Thank you.

It would be extremely difficult for you to gain muscles while dieting, there isn't much for you to worry about with that.

you won't get manly muscles, even if you lift weights.

this is 7 months of lifting weights 2-3 times a week. I've only lost like 3 pounds, but I have lost lots of fat.

Amazing~~~ I can't even lift a 4kg weight... I guess I only can focus on treadmill and elliptical trainer for losing weight and body fats...

even if you start with 2kg weights, over time you will get stronger. This morning I did squats with 68kg on my back. Less than a year ago I could only squat 46kg.

Losing weight is dependent on eating at a calorie deficit.

Exercise is for fitness. Cardio is for endurance and cardiovascular improvement and weights are for strength and preventing too much muscle mass from being loss. If all you do is cardio, you are going to be losing muscle along with some fat. Your body fat % will probably end up much higher at your goal weight versus someone who includes strength/resistance training along with cardio.

And no, walking with 4lb dumbbells on the treadmill isn't going to do much. Look into strength training programs...maybe focusing on those with dumbbells or bodyweight.

Bodyweight programs you can look into are Nerdfitness, You Are Your Own Gym, and Convict Conditioning.

Other really good weight training programs for beginners- Starting Strength, Stronglifts, NROLFW, and Allspro.

Just to note: even if you don't do Starting Strength or Stronglifts, I still suggest reading them so you can understand how often you should be pushing to progress in weights starting out.
  • True. Will it be better if I hold a 2kg dumb bell while walking on a treadmill at a speed of 5.0?

You're already getting a ton of cardio, based on your other thread. Maybe try dropping a half hour of cardio and spend it lifting weights instead. As others have said, you won't bulk up (it's *incredibly* difficult for women to get bulky), but you'll gain a bunch of strength and you'll burn a ton of calories. Remember, lifting heavy means heavy to you, not some arbitrary weight. Just start with what you can handle and gradually increase each time you're at the gym.
