Any good snack suggestions for in the UK?

Hi all! Am doing quite well to eat healthily during the week (not quite mastered weekends yet but am getting there!). At work I always seem to get peckish though, mostly out of boredom. I do try and have things like an apple or little pot of almonds or if I'm feeling naughty a multipack bag of quavers. Sometimes I will bring in some chopped up veggies and houmous etc. but I was just wondering if anyone can suggest any shop bought snacky items that are tasty and filling? I have seen all sorts of things from the US, namely Trader Joes, that sound really yummy and not too calorific but am not sure what to look for in my supermarket! I have a Waitrose, Sainsburys, Whole Foods and Tesco within walking distance. Thanks for any suggestions! P.S. I am fully aware it is a lot better to avoid processed snacks but sometimes I just fancy something I can pop in my bag and look forward to that afternoon!

There is something new from Special K- Chocolate biscuit moments, you get 2 slices for less than 100 cals!
Also I have a nut/ raisin/ choc chip mix which is protein and good fats but fixes my sweet tooth. I also like baby bell or light cheese triangles. Cucumber and Tzatziki is good. Or strawberries and meringue nests (100gr straw and 1 nest is about 100 cals).
I have a massive sweet tooth so I try to have sugar with something health ie fruit/ nuts.
If you're working out protein shake with water and peanut butter is a good boost! x0 -
Yay, thanks for the suggestions! I also have a massive sweet tooth unfortunately ha. Am also a fan of those biscuit moments - especially as they are half price in Tesco this week!0

Have you tried graze?
www.graze.com/uk
They deliver to your home a range of snacks - you get 4 in a box at a time and can select which types of snack you would like to receive - includes seeds, raisons, chocolates, dried fruits, breadsticks and dips
I have a promotional code if you would like to use it and get 3 free boxes as a trial. Code is EmmaB999P0 -
Thanks!
Yes Emma I actually really like Graze and used to get so excited about my box coming to the office! Then I realised that it was a bit silly to get excited about something that costs me £3.49 when I could just make up my favourite ones at home and put them in a tupperware for a lot cheaper. Think I kept at it for so long because I really wanted to try the brownie and little puds... such a child haha, they never seemed to get sent to me though!0 -
Biscuits that are lower in calories are Nice biscuits, and Bourbons and custard creams aren't too bad - 50 - 60 cals. And rich teas and ginger nuts are only 36! I can't do without my biscuits, but I've managed to train myself to have one or just two, instead of troughing half the packet!0

I am starting to get into the Tesco Healthy Options soup in a mug range. I find them to be quite a satisfying snack and are between 60 and 70 calories depending on the flavour.0

I love Nakd bars (all natural ingredients and no added sugar/syrup/artificial sweetener/honey/etc)
Nairns Oatcakes are also a good choice (again, no added sugar).
Meridian Hazelnut Butter is also amazing, spread on a sliced banana. That stuff is addictive - it tastes just like Ferrero Rocher (in my head, at least anyway  )0 -
I bought some biltong (beef jerky?) from Sainsburys yesterday - 204 calories for 30g of protein for an 85g bag. I haven't been brave enough to try it yet, it looks horrible. But it keeps for 3 days and doesn't need refrigerating so I'm hoping it'll be a handy drawer snack - if I could just bring myself to open the packet.
Other than that I have almonds, water and tea. Often when I add what I'm thinking of snacking on to my food diary I decide I'm not that hungry and go for water instead.0 -
If I need a sugar fix I try to go for some fruit or dried fruit. It usually satisfies my sugar craving although you have to be careful about how much you have. Dried mango is delicious or there's apricots and things like that.0

Whitworths do some 25g snack packs - peanut/orange/cranberry, cranberry/almond, pineapple/cashews for example.
Roughly 100 - 125 cals a pack. Lot cheaper than Graze
Might be worth lookstocking up at Holland & Barrett's (or similar outlet) on fruit/nut/seed goodies to make up your own snack pots. I've got a few small tupperware boxes which hold roughly 50g.

I use graze too and I love it. If you did want to use them again, you do know there is a "send soon" tick box next to each item? If you tick it then they will send it to you in your next box (as long as it is available) I make sure I always have at least 8-9items ticked as "send soon" that means that although I don't know exactly what I'm going to get, I know I will most definitely get 4 items out of the 8 or 9 I have requested to receive as soon as possible0 -
I like my graze, I get one a fortnight and for the money it's nice to have a little treat sometimes. I also buy popcorn, you can get salted or sweet and salted - if it is not toffee covered it is low calorie and nice to munch on0
