alcohol is poison

I split a bottle of vodka with my partner last night. I willingly spent money on something that is making me feel like **** today. WHY. so not worth it. *hangs head in misery*

I prefer beer because its a happy medium between tasting good and not getting out of control drunk and hungover the next day.

Everything in moderation. When I want a drink, I have one or two and that's it. I make it fit into my calories and I never get hungover because I don't go wild, and I'm at the age where I'm expected to go wild every weekend.

Hold your head up and learn from your mistakes. You know what your limit is, so next time don't have as much. Limit yourself so that you can have fun but not be miserable the next day.
  • Alcohol is poison . . . tasty, tasty poison.

But seriously, alcohol in moderation isn't so bad. As I got older (hangovers started getting seriously awful after 25), I started drinking much more sparingly and also drank higher quality alcohols. A cheap vodka in large quantities is going to give you a wretched hangover. A glass of nice single malt scotch, not so much. Aside from negative reactions to the gluten in beer, the sulfites in wine, and other potential liquor-specific gotchas, alcohol is a fine addition to any diet. The key, as with so many things, is in the moderation part.

fizzy drinks make my tummy hurt. that unfortunately includes beer and cider. and fizzy mixers, so even sailor jerrys with ginger beer is a no-no.

i cant believe i was home by midnight and still feel this terrible. getting old SUCKS

Ah, the good old days! Why do we do it? Because we are young. :D

next time drink water. :p It's your scalp shrinking from water loss that makes the hangover... or something like that. Definitely remember the water.

THIS. I used to could drink every night and still wake up and go to class in college. Now I'm almost 37 and I'm like a major league pitcher.... I need 3 days rest between outings.

As a general rule, I keep my intake down enough so that I don't pay the next day, even if I have enough to catch a buzz. However, every once in a great while I forget this rule, have way too much, and spend the next day swearing that I am never going to over indulge again. Luckily this cycle is repeating much less often than it used to when I was 20 years younger.

Old??? Yikes - wait until you're 46...I have a glass of wine or a drink and I'm ready to sleep. ;-) I don't even remember the last time I drank to "drunk" - but the memories are great.

It's your brain behind dehydrated that gives you a hangover. Alcohol isn't poison if drank responsibly.
