Is this normal?!

I haven't started working out fully yet (other than walking everywhere)

I'm very very pear shaped. And since I've been eating a lot better I have lost weight, but it's all in my stomach!!! I'm not losing anything in my thighs, (Not to sound crude but I have more fat on my thighs than my bottom), so it looks kinda funny, I've only lost the weight in my stomach, none in my legs, am I being too impatient, or will the weight from my thighs come off?

I'm getting an eliptical in a few days to help too because it's hard to exercise for me in public.

You can't spot reduce outside of surgery. Just keep going.

It's normal :) I lose from my hips long before I lose much from my belly. I have the least to lose in my hips, so that figures, right?

It evens out later, but it's like it takes from some pockets first (sometimes for a while). No fair, but there you go.

It all works out, it just takes time unfortunately. My biggest concentration is in my stomach.

Totally normal. I hold more weight in my stomach and muffin tops, always have, so when I first started losing weight it came off my thighs and bum very quickly but eventually my belly followed. I looked kind of disproportionate for a while haha. Just keep going!

Yeah, it's normal. That's why you're pear shaped, because your body ujst naturally stores fat in those areas. It's actually a good thing in some ways - it's healthier to store fat there than in your midsection. I'm more of an apple shape, and my fat tends to linger in my abdomen and back. You just have to keep at it and eventually it will come off those areas too.

I am also quite pear shaped. When I lost a lot of weight a few years back by diet alone it all came off my upper body. My mum started to get really worried as my face and arms became really thin. My hips were still large. When I turn sideways its not noticeable, but if I face you square on it looks weird. Like saddlebags and I hate it. I am now trying mfp calorie counting and use my cross trainer at home and have done so for about three weeks. Like you I assume doing lots of walking will focus the loss on the hips. I have measured on the scale every day and tape measure once a week. No change, nothing. I guess I am massively frustrated.

    Totally normal.

Strength training is the only thing I've found that really helps. Beeps' thread is the perfect example: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1107547-for-me-this-is-why-weights-over-cardio-is-key

Just keep going....it's too soon in the process to judge how you'll end up :drinker:
