Thoughts about smoking

Okay I was a smoker for 35 years. 2 packs a day. I thought quitting smoking would be the hardest thing to quit. I thought that I would always remember how good they tasted and made me fill. I also Thought that I would have dreams about smoking for the rest of my life. Wow was I wrong. For me personally, The day I quit cold turkey I washed all my clothes then painted my yellow walls. Around a week in my since of smell came back, omg, I can smell and the first thing I noticed was how horrible cigarette smoke smelled. I couldn't believe it. When I smoked I could care less who smelled my smoke. I would stand in front of a store to finish my cig. Now, it sickens me (really) to smell someones smoke, it is absolutely Horrible. I never have had a dream about smoking because There are no urges to ever want to smoke once I quit. Everything about quitting is so great there are no down side. So my advice would be to quit and don't worry about missing it, look forward to amazed on how great it is to not. You wont be sorry it is all plusses no negeatives. I promise you will look back and say, omg I cant believe I used to smell like that, lol. Oh yea, been over 2 years since I quit and I save over $300 per month and I would keep track of the money I save on the Calendar.

  • Well Done for quitting =) My partner and I have been ex-smokers for 17 months now - quit date 9th May 2012.
    Best thing we ever did.
The money we save allows us to rent a bigger house.
We no longer smell like ashtrays and I am not waking up coughing up my lungs every morning.
