Not over the long term, of course. What you do over time is what gives you real results.

I agree. Eat at a deficit and over time you will lose. The high calorie days that inevitable happen are just part of life. Enjoy them and get back to eating at a deficit as soon as possible.

I remember reading about plateaus when I first started here. I was a non believer. Then after losing about 50 pounds i had a plateau that lasted 35 days. I ate at a deficit each and every week during that time. And no loss. After the plateau was broken I have continued my downward trend on the scale. So, don't get discouraged and think you are doing something wrong when that plateau hits. Just keep on eating at a deficit and it will eventually pass.

Take Care and best of luck.
  • I prefer to look at my weekly total.

don't worry over daily bur look at the long picture I frequently spike well over but try to keep weekly where I want it to be thee is an excellent weight log (hacker diet online) wher if you are like me and weigh daily will show you that you are actually losing or gaining. It also helps to keep your metabolism keyed up if you go under and then over so that it does not get used to a regular figure day in day out .
Hope this is of some help!
