My scales are going nuts

So I the past couple days I have stepped on and off my scale a few times in a row in the same spot where I usually weigh myself and my scale will give me a 3-5 lb difference each time! It is a digital scale and I have had it for 6 years. I changed the batteries in it yesterday and its still doing it. Should I just switch to a hand scale? definitely a downer when you know you have been working really hard and its not giving you a reoccurring #

I was going to say batteries, but you already replaced those.... also make sure that the feet on the bottom are all sitting properly in the scale - mine can pop out part way or sit crookedly in it, and sometimes get bumped out when I move it around. It gives me wonky readings when this happens because the scale isn't level.

Other than that, I'm not sure what else to try. Good luck!

It probably just needs to be replaced. My guess is that, since you said it's 6 years old, it is probably just starting to malfunction/die. Most bathroom scales aren't really made to last that long. Although, I've heard that there is a brand(Salter) in Europe that is supposed to have the a lifespan of 10 years (apparently the only company with a lifespan that long from what I've heard).
