Muscle cramps

The other day I was doing some cardio and got a cramp in my calf halfway into it. I (unfortunately) was hoping it would just go away and continued exercising. Near the end of my workout, it flared up again and really started to cramp. Before I could just feel the tightness of it starting. I did a few stretches after that. Yesterday, it was pretty sore but I went to workout and did some stretches to warm up and ended up having pain in my quad after getting up improperly from the floor. After focusing on that, my calf was not sore anymore. I thought all was fine until after my workout and then my calf felt sore again. I've done lots of stretches and massaged it, but even today it feels worse. Do I need to just rest or should I at least take a light walk? I think the reason I got a cramp in the first place was due to not drinking enough water, so I'm working on that. And I know now that I should immediately have stretched at the first onset of it.

Sometimes some muscle fibers can tear during a muscle spasm, and that's probably what you're feeling (a "pulled muscle"). Mild tears can take a week or 2 to heal. Light movement is good, but avoid anything that hurts it (including massage). Do light stretching often if it doesn't hurt:
