Reduction in body fat reduces the appearance of cellulite.

i use defining gel by itworks company...it works wonders! I've been using it for only 2 weeks and i can see a difference...it also works amazing on stretch marks! mines used to be dark red but after just two weeks its turning white. hopefully it will all be gone by the end of the year!

Losing fat and building muscle helps but no guarantees. Good luck

I used to have cottage cheese legs, but after losing 60 pounds most of it is gone or very minor. I did a lot of running But idk if that has anything to do with it. I tried a million lotions and gels and all they did was break the bank. Don't waste your time!

I've lost about 2" from my thighs and I've noticed a lot less cellulite just because there is less fat there. Building muscle in that area can also help. I do a lot of squats/lunges with weights which work the thighs. If I keep up with them regularly, I feel that I see less cellulite.

Don't worry about it too much though, everyone you're comparing yourself to has their cellulite airbrushed out anyway. :P

I've noticed a good amount of cellulite gone, of course I still have it but not as much as before.

I'm not too sure what I did but the only real difference I made in the last 6 months was doing more strength training, HIIT running, and really paying attention to the quality of my foods. I know I won't ever get rid of all of it, but I'm okay with that.
  • I'm struggling with it too. I'm 45 lbs less than I was 7 years ago. 7 years ago I didn't have cellulite so it's obviously not about the amount of fat so much as it is about the elasticity of the skin and the muscle. We lose both as we continue to age. Apparently you have to do certain muscle building exercises in a certain order for it to be effective in reducing the appearance of cellulite. If you are going for the lotion cream route to reduce the appearance you might see a slight decrease in appearance using a lotion containing encapsulated caffeine. Caffeine will dehyrdrate the fat cell which in turn shrinks it (this is temporary). Also a lotion with alpha hydroxy acid will help to tighten the skin. As a previous poster stated your best bet is lunges and squats.
  • Oh yeah, womean have more cellulite than men because the bands connecting skin and muscle are different on men than they are on women. Men have thicker bands, there are more of them, and they form a crisscross pattern as opposed to the vertical pattern on women's bodies. That keeps the fat in place so it doesn't pucker. How unfair is that???
