Hi all quick question (and probably a silly one!).

I'm looking to make some homemade ghee but I'm curious on how to calorie it? Obviously I'd start with all the info from the butter but then I'm a bit stuck. Do I use the calories on the packet (i.e. 100g = 744 calories) as is or do I use the calories and then weigh the total at the end? The end product will weigh less as a the 'gunk' will be discarded.

I know this reads in a confusing manner but hopefully someone will know what I mean :-)

Thanks!

Have you searched for the calories in ghee/clarified butter? Shouldn't your homemade version be the same or a very similar to this number? It's still a rich source of fat so I wouldn't expect it to be far off from traditional butter.
