Just need some suggestions for clean eating, calories, etc.

Hi- I'm not sure if this has been over posted and I'm trying to figure out exactly what I'm doing. I am wanting to make sure I'm doing things correctly. I am spending 6 days in the gym alternating lifting days between shoulders, chest, legs and have added in Step Aerobics, Zumba, Gym Ball and do at least 45minutes to 1 hour per day of cardio. I'm seeing on my polar an average of 700 calories burned at the end. I'm eating around 1200 calories. Trying to keep my carbs lower. Protein higher. I've read some that most important change is done in the kitchen with what you eat. I'm getting really bored now with food. Any suggestions of what worked best for you? I'm trying to lose about 40lbs. Did you eat more of your calories you burned? How many calories should you burn if you expect to lose? And also eating to make sure I'm working on my stomach? I have a great support in the gym. I just need more help with trying to figure out things other than boiled egg whites, chicken, etc. Thank you in advance.

Do some online meal research, especially mediterranean meals. Lots of flavors and not a lot of calories and a big variety of ways to prepare, certainly not boring. I am diabetic so I have cookbooks that cover that issue too that are low card and low caloried and delicious. There are oodles of cookbooks out there to help you. Of course you have to enjoying cooking too. ;)
