I have a big problem at the moment LUNCH

I am one month into my first full time job and i started off well but once i reached week 2 i started buying my lunch in town: baguettes filled with cheese, or cajun chicken in a spicy mayonaise, cakes (a lot of cakes) high calorie drinks from starbucks - friday was my worst day - i had 240cals of sushi, half a tin of tuna, a buttered baguette, 2 cakes, 4 squares of chocolate and 100cals of juice

so i need your ideas for a healthy/tasty/lo-cal lunch that doesnt need refrigerated, doesnt need heated up and will keep me full

i need your help guys, with the way im eating now im putting on a lb a day >.<

    NO FRIDGE? thats the dumps!
How long b/w when you leave home and you eat your lunch? Use a few ice packs if you have to- My DH takes turkey sandwiches and never uses ice packs nor a fridge and never gets sick and has done it for 7 years now.

Ideas: turkey wrap w/ veggies, mustard, lite mayo (I spread my mustard on the turkey, and wrap that with veggies into a piece of romaine lettuce and only wrap it into the outer wrap just before eating to avoid a soggy mess)

Do same as above but with hummus + veggies

Yogurt (with the probiotics, etc it should be fine with an icepack or 2), fruit and a luna bar

You could possibly try something like a protein bar & some fresh fruit and see if that would keep you full. Or maybe a peanut butter & jelly sandwich also with some fresh fruit. Quaker makes some rice snacks called Quaker Quakes and they're like little bite size rice cakes and they are only 70 calories for 8 of them. . .that may be something you could have on the side. They have lots of different flavors so you could switch it up. Hope you get some helpful ideas and find something that works for you. . .just experiment and be creative!!

well, see if you could put a sandwich or something in it, maybe in the door. We were like this in law school. One fridge, 200+ people. Maybe many are buying lunches.

Mix it up: pbj and veggies one day, turkey in fridge another day, hummus wrap wtih veggies no fridge another day, luna , fruit and nuts another day, etc.
  • Can you get an insulated lunch bag?

Water lots and lots of water.

Organic peanut butter, fresh strawberries on a low cal whole wheat bread.

Hand full of Almonds and a piece of fresh fruit.

Freeze a cup of yogurt that should stay good till lunch time and have a piece of fresh fruit or veggies.

I bring a sandwich (usually ham and low fat cheese w/ mustard and veggies), yogurt, fruit and/or veggies as a side, and maybe some nuts. I put it in a small cooler with an ice pack and it is fine.

II would buy a good, insulated lunch box and a couple ice packs. I worked at a retail store a few years ago and my choices for a healthy lunch out were very limited, so I brought my lunch. The last year there we didn't have a fridge because the one we had broke and the company wouldn't buy another one. Anyway, I could bring just about anything I wanted to in my lunch box. I got a really big one so I could pack a lunch and a snack. Sandwich, fruit, veggies/dip, baked chips, pretzels, hummus. A lot of the time I'd just bring leftovers from dinner the night before.

Also, just because you eat out doesn't mean you have to eat poorly. You can have a salad. Several places have lunch specials now that you can get soup and salad. Just forgo the breadsticks! ;) If you don't think you have the willpower to eat out healthily, I'd just suggest the lunchbox w/ ice packs idea.
