best rep range for swimmers and similar

What is the best rep and set range for swimmers ie for someone wanting to add strength and endurance without adding too much mass??? Have heard and read several answers hence the confusion!!

    For strength, roughly 8 to 12 reps, or thereabouts.
    To develop endurance, practice swimming often, preferably under the guidance of a skilled coach.
    To avoid adding much mass, don't eat in a calorie surplus.

    I assume you're swimming for fitness and not competition since you are worried about mass? If so, the general guidelines of weightlifitng for strength would apply with no modifications, IMHO.

    workout has zero bearing on mass gain. your diet will determine if you gain weight for not.

    westside for skinny *kitten* 3 would be the template i recommend anyone looking to improve sport performance. in regards to rep range to use, the proper answer is all of them.

    For both. Added mass equals more to pull through water so want to improve my power to weight ratio.
