Rock climbing

Hey all,

are there any other people who play Spider-Man for fun here? Indoor, outdoor, bouldering, speed climbing... As long as your general direction of movement in sports is up, I'd love to hear from you.

(More of a side question: does anyone else have the feeling that the calorie burn MFP assumes for this is ridiculously high?)

I like to do what I've heard some people call "billy goating". Sounds kinky... but it's just climbing with no special gear.

LOL Yes, the MFP burn for rockclimbing is out of this world! Just getting back into climbing again, you can add me if you like. I run abit as well.
  • If you managed to exclusively count the time you spend actually *climbing*... but then again, that'd be a bit complicated. How would you even go about that? "Yeah, hold on to the rope, and stop the clock, I need to take a closer look at this - or maybe I should stop the... no... wait, don't let go of the... aaaarrrgh!"

I usually just make the rough estimate of the time I spend at the climbing gym minus the time I spent chatting with friends and then take 1/4 of that. (Assuming that I spend a lot more time figuring out routes, belaying other people, and getting in and out of my shoes than actually climbing...)
