Hi all! My name is Richelle. I originally joined this site may 2009. I was doing really good up until September 2009 when I lost the will power to keep at it. November 2009 I found out why I lost that energy, I was pregnant! Boy was it a HUGE surprise. We hadn't planned it nor really wanted a baby this soon..but couldn't do much about it! Logan was born June 28th (the day after my birthday) So here i am back to get this weight off! During my pregnancy I didn't do much exercising because it was mostly during the winter..and i hate winter. but i started physical therapy for my back and was doing 'water aerobics' 1-2 times a week and that helped me only gain about

When I started in May 2009 i was 189lbs..when I went to my first OB appt I was 196lbs...the day i went into the hospital to deliver i was 237...when i got home from the hospital i was 210!!. Starting today I am 205lbs...

My long term Goal is to be 150lbs by April 12, 2011 ( My 3rd wedding anniversary)

My short term goals are to loose 2-5 lbs a week.

Trying to find time to exercise will be hard, as my husband works 6-6 and I have the baby. So any ideas that will help me will be great.. ( i don't really have anyone close to babysit either)

Feel free to add me as a friend on here too!

    Hi Richelle! Welcome back!

I surprise baby! How lovely! You will burn a lot of calories just taking care of little Logan! But I have been reading some posts and I'm really surprised at how many calories gals are burning by pushing the babes in strollers!!! Oh my goodness it's great! I don't know if you live an a good safe place where you can do this. I hope you do. We live in a tiny town in Utah and it is so safe.

I'm blessed with a boss that helps us out with a gym membership. That's why it has been so good for me this time. I'm not stranger to starting over myself. :D

    Good luck with your adventure.

We do live in a pretty safe area. We live in an apartment (on the 3rd floor) so we keep the stroller in hubbies car and keep forgetting to take it out of his and put in mine! Our apartment complex has a fitness center, so i probably will put Logan in the car seat and take him with me. I can't wait til the Dr clears me to go swimming on wednesday! Our apt also has an outdoor pool. But I will have to wait til hubby is home before I can use the pool
  • I have a little one as well - so finding time to work out is hard, since I'm with her all the time :) My husband works + commutes about 45min each way M-F so when he gets home there isn't much time left in the day. I've found I burn a good amount by walking 30-45min daily while wearing her in a carrier - it's like walking with weights on!

Congrats! As goldspaula said, you'll burn a lot of energy taking care of your little one, especially if you're breastfeeding--make sure you do whatever it takes to avoid "replacing" those excess calories and continue to replace the healthy stuff you (and Logan) need to be fit and strong. I would recommend investing in a set of free weights and maybe also a Swiss ball so you can exercise in your apartment with your baby close by. I have no fitness complex and I'm too cheap to buy a gym pass in the summer, so I make the best use of the outdoors while I can, and I try and walk everywhere (even to the track where I do my training).

    Good luck!!
