Welcome! I hope your recovery from surgery goes by quickly for you. Do you have a friend that would walk with you? I find when I don't have a friend to walk with that listening to an MP3 player helps the time pass by quickly - if you have one load up on your favorite upbeat songs. If you don't have an MP3 player - you can get them really cheap and they aren't that difficult to learn how to use. I wish you all the best and looking forward to hearing about the progress you make!0

You can do this! I love walking (I live in FL so it's a little too hot right now
). This site is so wonderful and the support from everyone (whether friends or just other MFP's) is Amazing  I've come a longer way that ever before & I'm doing this long term, the changes that are in effect now are in effect for life :flowerforyou:
(P.S. I sympathize with the CT, I have it in both wrists due to piano & guitar playing when I was younger but have controlled it thanx to my Baby Sister Physical Therapist & a good solid exercise, strengthening plan):flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
Just a hint if you don't have someone to walk with (I don't either when I walk.jog) I love walking & listening to my MP3 player: I pack it full of my fav music & walk to the beats. I add ankle weights as well since that just works my legs a bit more & in the last 2 month since I started working out with ankle weights again, I've dropped 1 full size & toned up a lot more! The scale doesn't show it, but the way my clothes fit & look says way more than a "number". Start low with 1lb ankle weights & move up to 2 1/2lbs: it doesn't seem like much, but holy cow does it make a difference :happy:0

I understand that. My husband walks with me when it works out for our schedules. This past week hasn't been a good one. If you can find someone to walk with you, the time does go by faster. I live in Louisiana, and we have been under heat advisories for weeks now. It's hard to get out unless it is very early or fairly late. I do walk or work out on my elliptical with music as others have mentioned. If you haven't been walking, start out slowly in this heat. There are lots of people to support you here.0

You will be so surprize how the weight will come off when you start walking. Just bring some music along. Try to see if a friend or neighbor will go walking with you. Best of luck. You CAN do this.0
