Under Active Thyroid

So I've been trying to shift some weight for the last 6 months but to no avail! I was at the gym 3 times a week, eating healthily, the works and it wasn't budging. If anything I've put on half a stone. Completely loosing faith, I stopped using myfitnesspal and only went to the gym to make myself feel a bit better about once a week. A trip to the Doctors and I found out I have an under active thyroid, which makes you tired and put on weight.
At least there's a reason my efforts aren't working!
I'm wondering if anyone else has this and is trying to lose weight? How are you doing it?

#1 - Get on the right medication. Once you do that the symptoms will ease up in a week or two.
Start logging again and get back in the gym (don't waste membership money). Once your meds are stable, you will be able to lose but don't expect huge results. It is a slow process. I am resigned to the fact that I will have to monitor myself for the rest of my life. This has to be a lifestyle change not a diet.0 -
I lost weight before I was diagnosed and continued to lose weight during and after the period where we were figuring out my dosage. It may be harder for us to lose, but it's not impossible. We just have to be extra aware of our condition and track our calories very closely.0
