Need some advice

Hi,
I used to be about 360 lbs, and I worked all the way down to 295 lbs. For me, that's relatively light, as I'm 6'3" and a former college lineman. I wanted to get down to around 270 lbs.
I plateaued, so I joined OrangeTheory Fitness (sorta like crossfit), and in about 3 months, I'm up to 310 lbs! Now, the weird thing is everyone keeps saying that I look better than ever. I feel much tighter and MUCH stronger. Is it possible I've just converted a lot of fat to muscle?
I haven't changed my eating habits, so should I just ignore the number to some point? And is there a diet that you guys would recommend for a large person like me?

3 months, 15 lbs of muscle.. No..... Get a digital scale, start logging everything and weighing everything and eat at a calorie deficit. Losing weight is all diet, so you may need to make some changes0

BMI is not for muscular people. You may have increased muscle. Get a body fat reading this may give you a more accurate picture and possibly give you a new goal % instead of weight.0

I agree with both posters above. I highly doubt you put on 15 lbs of muscle in 3 months. Perhaps some of it was muscle, but my guess is your calorie estimates may be off and you're taking in more than you think.
I would focus on bodyfat % as well vs weight. Get a good bodyfat reading, eat at a deficit for a month (20% from TDEE or so), get into a good exercise routine (cardio & weight lifting) and see where you're at after a month. Hopefully you're bodyfat will have come down some as well as some scale weight.
You can get a pair of bodyfat calipers from Amazon for about $15. I have a set at home, they're pretty easy to use.0
