    Bottom line is that you're doctor is supposed to help you get and stay health. She may not have said what you wanted to hear, but her job is not to sugar coat.

    I just called back up to the doctors office and left a message requesting to try and lower my thyroid levels a bit more. hopefully when they call back, I'll hear a positive answer.
  • Definitely look into the nutritional deficiencies as well. One major issue with symptomatic hypothyroidism is that the body often just doesn't absorb nutrients from food as well as it should. Some of those nutrients are crucial for the chemical processes that convert T4 (medication) to T3 (the major active thyroid hormone). It's a simple blood test to check for nutritional deficiencies, one that doctors almost never order unless you ask, and is such an easy and relatively inexpensive fix if something is off.
