I'm a powerlifter trying to lose 20 pounds. Three years ago, I made the decision to change my life. I lost 80 pounds in one years time. Since then, I have maintained my weight within 5 to 10 pounds of that at all times. I have also gained muscle though. I however, have not successfully hit my weightloss goal and have been at this weight for 2 years. I have been complacent in my journey and have been content remaining where I am. I know however, that I am still overweight and need to burn off those last 20 pounds. Not only will my weightclass be lower and make it so I am a more competitive lifter, but it will also help me to lead a healthier life.
I joined a gym a few weeks ago, one where the owner has committed to help me lose those last 20 pounds and to also help me build the strength I need to compete. He told me to go here and to track my calories. I have never been successful at tracking calories, even for just one day, but I am on day 3 and so far, I have had success! I know that with his help, with the help of my family and friends, and with the help of this site itself, and maybe even new friends I meet here, I will make it to my final goal and finally make it to a healthy body fat percentage.
