Sensual in my opinion is a way of being... smooth, womanly, soft, affectionate, passionate

Sexy to me is a look, and indescribable thing someone has I believe it's called " je ne sais quoi".. either you have it or you don't

Always wanted to know how to spell " je ne sais quoi" thanks.

    Yep I copied and pasted.

Sexy...You want to be with her.

Sensual...You dream and wish she wants to be with you.

    Perfection...when she is both.
  • Sensual oozes sex appeal, it usually takes a connection. Like a spark, tummy flutters, heart pounding.

Sexy doesn't always heighten the senses. Sexy isnt necessarily something that causes you to feel deeply.

To me, sexy is how you look. It can be things like your fitness level and your clothing choices.

Sensual is how a sexual/romantic person acts.
It is the way he looks at you. The way he touches your back as you walk through a door. The way he holds your face before he kisses you.

I am not a man of many words but...

To me a sensual person is one that is able to connect with you usually but not always physically. He/she can be very attentive to details of your wishes or needs, be it your mind and/or your body. Quite gifted of the conquest of arousal.

A sexy person is one who is radiating something special, not necessarily directing it towards you in particular. Its more of the emotional variety. More of the "it" factor. The person could seduce many minds without being aware they are doing so.

    Sensual - Think erotica
    Sexy - Think porn

I disagree. Porn is not sexy. It's trashy. -_-

    sex·y (sks)
    adj. sex·i·er, sex·i·est
    1. Arousing or tending to arouse sexual desire or interest.

And here I was mocked for my definition of sexy, but once again I was right. I am the greetest and smrtest!!

yeah like a really hot, dingy bimbo could be sexy but she's probably not sensual....whereas an intelligent, well built woman can be sensual just by the way she looks at you across the room.

They seem to mix, can someone explain the difference?

    Sexy is your dimples,

Sensual is looking into your eyes and being awed by them...

    Wow. Love this.

A sensual woman I would want sweaty passionate sex with.

A sexy woman I would want to pound like a Mallard Duck.

    *bows*

    Great explanation !!

Sexy, Sensual basically mean the same thing. What you say, depends on what kind of people, you are trying to appeal. Sexy is more common and casual. Sensual is for the intellectual types.

Sensual is more the desires, energy, passion, connecting ... the dance.
Sexy is more the surface ... the visual.

    Sensual:
1.pertaining to, inclined to, or preoccupied with the gratification of the senses or appetites; carnal; fleshly.

    2.
lacking in moral restraints; lewd or unchaste.

    3.
arousing or exciting the senses or appetites.

    4.
    worldly; materialistic; irreligious.

    5.
of or pertaining to the senses or physical sensation; sensory.

    Sexy:
1.concerned predominantly or excessively with sex; risqué: a sexy novel.

    2.
sexually interesting or exciting; radiating sexuality: the sexiest professor on campus.

    3.
excitingly appealing; glamorous: a sexy new car

according to the dictionary, the two words have very similar meanings.....interesting how our human minds and hearts seem to interpret them very differently.....:)....I know I do....:)

    Agreed!
But, boy, do the men interpret these two things differently....not sure if I should be flattered when referred to as Sexy anymore

A sensual woman is always sexy but, a sexy woman is not always sensual.
    My opinion anyway.
For example, when I think sensual, I am picturing the black dress and long gloves.
    Classy and beautiful.

Sexy however could also include a woman on horseback in a hat and jeans. Surfing in a bikini or even working on a car with the dirt to go with it.

I would say that sensual engages many senses, whereas sexy engages basically one (at least in regards to the effect women have on men -- or at least on me...)

Sensual seems to imply a degree of class that sexy may or may not on its own.

    Probably doesn't help, but that's my 2¢

I agree. Sensual can mean something totally different from sexy. I like textures, smells, sights.

Sensual is like a Leather Bound First Edition book, you want to breathe in the scent, lovingly thumb through the pages one by one the story starts unfolding before your eyes and soon you are engaged with it so intensely that the climax of the story is mindblowing.......

Sexy is "Hey that book has awesome illustrations!"
    nice =)
