Ok, I really hate to post, but I'm driving myself nuts. I started insanity in June, finished in mid aug and have lost 4 lbs and 10.5 inches. Since mid aug,I've thrown in some 4 mile walk/runs, and try to do that every other day along with my daily insanity... Starting second week of round two... Yes, I feel good, I can actually run 4 miles in 50 minutes give or take, so I know my endurance is up, but I'm at a loss as to why I just can't shed more weight, even the inches have been difficult lately. I eat pretty clean, but I might grab a few bites of treats here and there. I mainly avoid any alcohol, with the exception of late, because all through my first round of insanity, I avoided all alcohol and treats with no major changes,... Which was frustrating... I've started watching the amount of fruit I put in my post workout smoothie to avoid added sugars and carbs.. I try to eat 100 grams of protein a day.. I try to watch my carb intake but I noticed my sweat smelling like ammonia on some days so, I'm trying to make sure I get enough carbs... I guess my major question is, what am I doing wrong? I'm ready to lose this 30 or so lbs, but no matter what I do, I lose 4 lbs, only to gain it back and lose them again, and so on. Do I need to up my intensity or what? Please help me... Oh and I eat around 1400-1600 calories a day, my net amount is less... I started out eating 1200 and have since upped it after a few weeks of nothing happening... I'm afraid to up it more since, I gain so easily... Anyway, any advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

The main reason could be that you're over-estimating the amount of calories you're eating. Get a food scale, and use it to weigh up everything you'll eat in the day, and with that it becomes more accurate to log your calories down.
If you're eating back calories you've gained from exercising, it could be that the number of calories you've burned is not accurate. A HRM could help track the number of calories you've burned more easily.0 -
