    none of them were the first humans to reach the Americas though.... that happened around 12,000 years ago, if I recall correctly... across the Bering strait, which back then was a bridge of land from Siberia to Alaska. They were Homo sapiens sapiens with a late upper palaeolithic level of technology.

    Happy Leif Ericson day anyway though, it's quite an impressive feat even so.
