I too would be interested to know i can always stick to my fats, never go over but protein and sugars are my downfall. I dont eat sweets but my love of banana's and fruits notches up the numbers!

I am no expert but I personally go over my protein recommendation on a very regular basis. I find that my body need the extra protein.

Too much protein can cause kidney problems. As long as you are within or close to the standard recommendation of 10-35%, though, I wouldn't worry. The kidney issues are usually related to excessively high protein, like 70% or more and even low carb/high protein diets aren't that high in protein.

It all depends by how much you are going over.

Too much protein can be a strain on your kidneys, but if you have healthy kidneys, you would have to eat a lot over.

As far as I know in huge amounts it can cause problems with your kidneys and make you more likely to become dehydrated but that is only with really excessive amounts far more than the average person has, the side effects of going too far under can be just as bad for you. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I too go over my protein amount quite often and I've had no problems with it.

There has never been a case of protein deficiency in this country.
A high protein diet (specifically animal protein diets) are associated with Osteoporosis, Kidney problems, and Cancer.

Read the China Study by Dr. Campbell. http://www.thechinastudy.com/about.html

Hundreds of thousands of studies have linked animal food diets to most every cancer known to man.
