Gloria Vanderbilt Likes My Butt!

I'm not even close to my goal yet, but when I dropped off my old clothes at Value Village today, I thought I'd go shopping (part of my birthday present to myself).

All in all, I bought 26 tops of various sorts, mostly for work, but I happened to find a size 18p Gloria Vanderbilt black jeans that look like they've never been worn. I just looked at them and went "No Way" because they looked so small, but at $8 I wasn't going to pass that up. I figured it would be something to work toward. Didn't even try them on. Petites are hard enough to come by as it is, particularly in larger sizes.

So when I got home, I tried them on and they not only do up, they're comfortable despite a little muffin top. Obviously my mental self-image is lagging a bit behind!

Oh yeah... the price tag for 27 pieces of clothing? $190 tax included. Can't argue with that.

You have no idea what I got rid of. Three times that, all far too big. Basically I was living in very large clothes for quite a while and people started telling me I needed to get rid of all of it. So, other than those few things that I still love, I did. Recycling's good in this case :)

Also, this is the first time in at least a decade that I'm wearing non-plus size clothes. To be able to go into a fashion outlet (not V V, more like Jones NY) and find something that doesn't look like it started life as a tent is a miracle in itself. It's just that I couldn't afford to buy 27 anything at Jones :)

It happened to me too. About a month ago a friend asked me what on Earth I was wearing. I was embarrassed and asked her why she asked. Turns out my top was visibly far too big for me!

You most definitely cannot argue with that.
