Sugar and Soda.....

Hey folks. I confess, I enjoy a nice, cold, glass of Pepsi. I don't have any health problems, but my Dr and I were discussing intake of Pepsi and other Soda's. He says for me not to drink more than 2 a day, and none 3/hrs before bedtime(after working night shift).

The Dr says 2 a day are fine. If and when I do my 2 a day on here, it puts my daily sugar limit over.

What does everyone thnk....??

I drink Mexican Coke sometimes as a treat, especially if I've worked out, but for the most part I stick to diet to save the calories. As long as it fits under your calorie goal, you should be ok.

I think you should definitely stop drinking Pepsi. Coke is the way to go.

Unless the caffeine is keeping you up, I wonder why he's telling you not to drink it before bed...

Anyway, calories in calories out, but it's probably better for your health not to guzzle carbonated sugar water as the majority of your calories. Drink some, enjoy it, but three glasses of Pepsi a day might be a bit much.

My sleep patterns did get a hair off, but problem solved. I always fall below my daily calorie goal - thus 8lbs gone in about a month.

I love me some Dr. Pepper! I treat myself to it once or twice a week. The amount of sugar is insane though!

I have a friend from Atlanta, so she drinks Coke. I'm sure you've been places and ordered a Pepsi and they've asked of Coke is OK. When my friend orders a Coke and is asked of Pepsi is OK, she says no and orders something else. It sometimes surprises the servers as most people would just say "whatever." She also told me about how when you are in that area and order a Coke, lots of times people then ask "what kind" meaning do you want sprite, or orange, or root beer, or "regular" Coke.

They are probably also referring to the different flavors. Atlanta is home to the world of coke and many restaurants have several other coke flavors since they are easy to get in that town.

I tell ya what, I have a half a dozen diet Pepsis in the fridge and I'm done with them. I drink maybe one a day, some days none but lately, especially since I have been eating primarily healthy, lots of produce and fresh meats and what not, I have noticed that within minutes of drinking one, I get a mild headache with floaters! Its gotta be the aspartame...I'm done! I guess I'll just have the occasional REAL sugar sody pop on my cheat day.
