Stuck in a Rut

Hi Fitness Pals,
When I joined MFP a year ago, I dropped 15 lbs pretty quickly. After the summer, all of my habits starting coming back and now I weigh more than my starting weight last year.
I can't seem to dig myself out of this rut. Any suggestions?
Please feel free to friend me--I could definitely use some more friends and encouragement. I want my phone to light up with inspiration!

I had done the same thing for years. This year I finally started very slowly taking baby steps with lots of time inbetween steps to get used to doing things differently. It took me a year to lose about 20 pounds.........very slow. Now I have gotten myself into the habit of eating right, watching portions and exercising. It still isn't always perfect but I am losing at a much better rate than before and it is actually easier. Moving that slow was frustrating for a while, but it was well worth it.0

I've been a MFP member for a little over a year, over that time I've tried Weight Watchers Online, gotten involved with AdvoCare and work toward new and interesting ways to workout. I am very fit, studying for the highest level of certificates to be a personal trainer and work for a wellness company as a graphic designer. I lost almost 20lbs in this year, then in the last 8 weeks I have notices about 5 lbs have come back, due to diet and busy lifestyle.
The change I made to my routine to finally achieve that 20lb weight loss (which at this point is taking off the final 6 lobs) is, I am not replacing (eating) my spent exercise calories. I would not recommend this for a person who is new with a weigh loss routine, but if you've been at it for a while (about a year) your body has definitely adapted to your current regimen and caloric intake. You need to shock the body in order to make it change. I am currently eating 1200 calories / day (standard for a safe lose of 2 lbs per week). My daily workouts burn about 500 calories per session and I do not eat what I have burned. No matter what, I stick to 1200/day. Also, heart rate monitors are not 100% accurate and going by other peoples burnt-calorie-stats is a sure set up for failure.
Also, if you do these things you will see results fast:
Drink only water - period (at least 1 gallon / day)
Stop eating sugar - period
Limit fruit intack
Eliminate starchy veggies and grain
Eat lean meats and veggies as much as possible
Incorporate nuts and natural oils like olive oil and coconut oil
Eat every 2-3 hours
Seriously, unless there is an underlying health issue, your weight lose is 85% on your food intake. Regulate that and you will find success.0 -

If you haven't started yet I would suggest buying a digital scale from Target. Weigh all of your food. Also, start lifting weights. You can do this!0
