I try to walk without the kids but if I have to take them it is generally in the stroller. Tonight we tried a backpack carrier and the only thing that stopped us was the rain :(

How can I figure out the calories. I use I map my run app but have no idea how to add an extra 17lbs (what she weighs) to the mix.

Anyone know?

TIA

This may work if you know distance: http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc

On Map My Run, you can put in your weight (there is an option to "change weight" when you put in a workout). I'd just add the 17 pounds to it and see what the calorie burn is. I'd guess not that much difference for 17 pounds but I could be wrong!

Try hiking it will come up with s pack option of under 10 lb pack or a 10-20 lb pack just a thought for you.. carrying your child will give a higher calorie burn keep it up n good luck

There is actually an option in the database for walking, carrying 15 pound load or child. That might be a good choice for you! Good luck!

Good question and helpful answers...I was just wondering this today. I went on a walk, baby decided he was done riding and I walked almost a mile carrying him =).

Thanks. I tried but don't see some of those options.

For walking I don't see any option for carrying and with hiking I see carrying a backpack but no weights just medium and large.
